Anna Evans - Woodwind
Anna Evans studied the oboe at the Royal College of Music and in Munich. She has combined raising a family with a busy free-lance career as an oboe and cor anglais player and with teaching both in Leicestershire and Oxfordshire. She has been a regular member of free-lance orchestras such as the English Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra da Camera. Foreign tours have included work with the ESO under the direction of Yehudi Menuhin. Anna enjoys working with young people as an orchestral and chamber music coach.
John King - Trumpets
John King’s trumpet studies began as a schoolboy in Manchester, where he had lessons with the BBC Northern Orchestra’s Cecil Kidd. After a gaining a Law Degree at Oxford University, John embarked on a career as a player, teacher and administrator. He played with, amongst others, the Northern Sinfonia, and the Welsh National Opera and Scottish Ballet orchestras, worked as an instrumental teacher in many Oxfordshire schools, and founded Oxford’s first professional orchestra, the City of Oxford Orchestra. He has subsequently worked as a consultant to the Jacqueline du Pre Music Building, St. John the Evangelist Arts, Latitude 45, and the Oxford Philomusica. John continues to teach in the Faringdon area, and has been a member of the TVYO coaching team for over 30 years.
